Crash into You

Title: Crash into You
Author: Katie McGarry
Series: Pushing the Limits #3
Publisher: Harlequin Teen
Published: November 26, 2013
Pages: 474, Hardcover

The girl with straight As, designer clothes and the perfect life-that's who people expect Rachel Young to be. So the private-school junior keeps secrets from her wealthy parents and overbearing brothers...and she's just added two more to the list. One involves racing strangers down dark country roads in her Mustang GT. The other? Seventeen-year-old Isaiah Walker-a guy she has no business even talking to. But when the foster kid with the tattoos and intense gray eyes comes to her rescue, she can't get him out of her mind.
Isaiah has secrets, too. About where he lives, and how he really feels about Rachel. The last thing he needs is to get tangled up with a rich girl who wants to slum it on the south side for kicks-no matter how angelic she might look. But when their shared love of street racing puts both their lives in jeopardy, they have six weeks to come up with a way out. Six weeks to discover just how far they'll go to save each other.                                                                                                                       -Goodreads
This book is truly the most heart wrenching thing I have read all year (and the Elite by Kiera Cass was pretty intense). Seriously I almost cried, but thank God I didn't because I was in class reading it. So close to tears!!! ⊙ (_
But.... ummm... Cars... not my thing. I was pretty confused about almost anything that involved cars in the book but everything was just great. You will love the story between the star crossed lovers and the action pack story.

Rachel Young comes from a rich family that seems perfect, but in reality is truly dysfunctional. She is forced to live like a perfect daughter after the tragedy of a sister she never met. Forced to hide her true passion from her mother and protected by her brothers, she can't seem to find an escape until one night changed her life forever.

Isaiah's mother went to jail and soon he was bouncing from foster home to foster home. Known for being scary and living with his best friend, Isaiah works hard to pass his program and maintain a job for rent. One night in desperate need of cash, he resorted to street racing and meet an angel there.

Rachel soon was accused of something she didn't do and was forced into a debt. Isaiah didn't understand why, but he soon was helping Rachel. Both coming from completely different places, share a passion, turning into love through all odds. Both are bringing out the better things out of each other, helping each other through every step despite all the hatred. Secrets will come out and be discovered. Trust will betrayed. Danger is in the air. And passion is strong.

The book truly shows that love can withstand ANYTHING

Dare You To

Title: Dare You To
Author: Katie McGarry
Series: Pushing the Limits #2
Publisher: Harlequin Teen
Published: July 31, 2012
Pages: 456, Hardcover

Ryan lowers his lips to my ear. "Dance with me, Beth."
"No." I whisper the reply. I hate him and I hate myself for wanting him to touch me again....
"I dare you..."
If anyone knew the truth about Beth Risk's home life, they'd send her mother to jail and seventeen-year-old Beth who knows where. So she protects her mom at all costs. Until the day her uncle swoops in and forces Beth to choose between her mom's freedom and her own happiness. That's how Beth finds herself living with an aunt who doesn't want her and going to a school that doesn't understand her. At all. Except for the one guy who shouldn't get her, but does....
Ryan Stone is the town golden boy, a popular baseball star jock-with secrets he can't tell anyone. Not even the friends he shares everything with, including the constant dares to do crazy things. The craziest? Asking out the Skater girl who couldn't be less interested in him.
But what begins as a dare becomes an intense attraction neither Ryan nor Beth expected. Suddenly, the boy with the flawless image risks his dreams-and his life-for the girl he loves, and the girl who won't let anyone get too close is daring herself to want it all....
                              -Goodreads

Actually I was a lot more interested in Ryan's story than Beth's. (that sorta disappointed me) The story was really good though. The drama is very good and you won't get enough of Ryan and Beth's love story and ridiculousness. The emotions are raw and truly is intense. The things that Beth go through are truly hardcore and she is incredibly strong yet she doesn't know when to ask for help.

Beth is actually a blue-eyed blond who used to love bows and wore dresses, but now she has black hair, a messed-up mom, an uncle and aunt, and a big attitude. She is truly a bad ass (excuse my french). >o< Her attitude and wit is something I couldn't get enough of. She does tend to get into a lot of drama though. Like look at her last name, Risk, it explains so much. In the beginning, when she moves to the new town, she is tough, mean and harsh to everyone she meets/talks to. Eventually, we start to see the softer side of her and the coldness begins to melt.

Ryan is a famous jock, a lover of dares, and wants more than to be just a jock. His father wants him to be the perfect son since he believes the other one was a bust. His ex girlfriend is… being a pain in the arse (again excuse the french, I don't usually use that language, it's the only way to describe it). Ryan hides behind a facade of the perfect son (sorta) but he knows that it just isn't him. From what I see, when he realizes what he actually wants to do is because he finally let go of that facade.

Those two brought out the things in each other that the other suppressed or hid from the world. Beth and the little girl that died (a metaphor) a decade ago. Ryan and his secrets hidden from his friends and "perfect" family. Both are very different yet both just have a chemistry that works. They accept each other for the flaws that others won't or can't get past. Both have secrets yet they can work it. It is a gorgeous story with creative writing and baseball (P.S. I don't know the rules to baseball so I was lost: sorta)

Perfect Chemistry

Title: Perfect Chemistry
Author: Simone Elkeles
Series: Perfect Chemistry #1
Publisher: Walker Books for Young Readers
Published: December 23, 2008
Pages: 357, Paperback

A fresh, urban twist on the classic tale of star-crossed lovers.
When Brittany Ellis walks into chemistry class on the first day of senior year, she has no clue that her carefully created 'perfect' life is about to unravel before her eyes. She's forced to be lab partners with Alex Fuentes, a gang member from the other side of town, and he is about to threaten everything she's worked so hard for: her flawless reputation, her relationship with her boyfriend, and the secret that her home life is anything but perfect.
Alex is a bad boy and he knows it. So when he makes a bet with his friends to lure Brittany into his life, he thinks nothing of it. But soon Alex realizes Brittany is a real person with real problems, and suddenly the bet he made in arrogance turns into something much more.
In a passionate story about looking beneath the surface, Simone Elkeles breaks through the stereotypes and barriers that threaten to keep Brittany and Alex apart

This is a seriously amazing book that actually has a life lesson in it. BTW if you're wondering what the lesson is then read the book but it is pretty obvious. The story was a serious emotional roller coaster. I actually cried reading the book and I finished this book just hours ago and can still remember the raw emotions I felt. The book actually had some elements of 'the Outsiders' which I thought was also a great book. It is one hilarious book too next to the emotional roller coaster. It actually took me three minutes to come down after having a laughing fit from:

"Then leave the guy alone. I know him. He's cool."
Sam raises an eyebrow. "You know this guy?"
"Listen," I say, taking one look at White Guy and am glad he's wearing a blue button-down instead of his coral shirt. It's still geek city, but at least I can keep a straight face when I say, "This guy's been in jail more times than me. He might look like a complete pendejo, but underneath that fucked-up hair and lame shirt he's a complete badass."
"You're fuckin' with me, Alex," Sam says.
I step out of the way and shrug. "Don't say I didn't warn you."
White Guy steps forward, attempting to look tough. I bite my lower lip to keep from laughing and cross my arms around my chest as if waiting for the ass-kicking to start. My LB buddies also wait, ready to see Sam get his ass kicked by a white geek.

Oh, I hope you see the funniness or this would be awkward...

Brittany is your typical plastic girl. She's the co-captain on the pom-pom squad (seriously... can't you just say cheerleaders) dating the quarterback football player, has an awesome car and wears designer clothing... or so it seems. In reality, her mother is an obsessed lady about being perfect and her father is rarely there mentally and physically. She has an older sister who is mentally delayed and physically impaired. In reality, she is just trying to perfect to make sure her mother stays stable, and her sister is okay and safe.

Alex is a LB or Latino Blood member (a gang) and plays the bad guy but in reality he is actually protecting his family. Once one is a member, the entire family is protected. Alex's father was killed and he is now the man of the family. Alex doesn't want to be a gangbanger but he has to be one to make sure his family is protected. He believes that his life will get better, but deep down he believes that it's his destiny to forever be a gangbanger. He wants to make sure that his two younger brothers get a better life and don't join a gang.

Soon the two entwine in each other's lives because of chemistry. It is the typical love scenery: first you can't stand them, then you spend time with them, and soon you fall in love.

That's what you call Perfect Chemistry
